Public Affairs and Lobbying Code of Conduct

1. We will conduct any Public Affairs and Lobbying services we undertake with honesty towards the various institutions of government.

2. In making representations to government, we disclose the identity of our clients and do not misrepresent their interests. We make all reasonable efforts to satisfy ourselves of the truth and accuracy of statements we make.

3. We advise colleagues where any activities may be illegal, unethical, or contrary to professional practice, and we refuse to take part in any such activity. We ensure colleagues keep strictly separate from their duties and activities as consultants any personal involvement on behalf of a political party. We abide by internal rules on declaration and handling of interests laid down by any public body on which they serve.

4. We fully comply with the Bribery Act 2010 and with any statute in relation to payments to a political party in any part of the United Kingdom. Furthermore we comply with the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-Party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Act 2014 and the Lobbying (Scotland) Act 2016.

5. We conduct ourselves in accordance with the rules of the Palace of Westminster, Scottish Parliament, National Assembly of Wales, Northern Ireland Assembly or Greater London Authority or any department with the rules and procedures of all institutions of government. We abide by the rules for the obtaining, distribution and release of parliamentary and government documentation.

6. We are at all times aware of the importance of the principles and duties set out in this code.
